Privacy notice

Who we are

This website is run by Fast Parts Motor Factors, trading as Fast Parts Northwich and Winsford. Registered office 171 Witton Street, Northwich, Cheshire. We are the controller of the personal information described in this privacy notice. You can contact us on 01606 330 555 or contact@fastparts.uk.com.

What this site collects

The pages themselves don't store personal data. With your consent, the site uses Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are useful. If you say no, or do nothing, those cookies aren't set and nothing is sent to Google. A cookie that remembers your choice is always on. See our cookie policy for details, and you can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Each time you accept, reject or change your analytics choice, we also save a short record of it, so that we can show what you agreed to and when. The record contains a random ID (also held in your fp_consent cookie), the date and time, your choice, the version of our cookie policy you saw, and the page you were on. It doesn't contain your name, email address or IP address.

If you use the parts enquiry form, the details you enter (your name, email address, vehicle registration and the part you need, and optionally your phone number and your vehicle make & model) are sent through a form service, Web3Forms (see the Web3Forms privacy policy), which emails them to us. If you request a trade credit application, we ask for your business name, your name, phone number, email address and town or postcode, which are sent in the same way. We use these details to reply to you and deal with your request.

Other companies involved

  • Cloudflare. The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, which stores our cookie consent records and may record technical information, such as IP addresses, when pages are requested, and uses it to run and secure its service. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site, such as the pages you view, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
  • Web3Forms. Our forms use Web3Forms, run by Web3Creative, to email your details to us and keep a copy in our account. It uses Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare and Hetzner to run the service, and shares the sender's IP address and email address with US spam-checking services. You can read the Web3Forms privacy policy on their website.
  • Google Maps. The site doesn't embed maps. The map links on our Find us page open Google Maps only if you choose to click them, and then Google's privacy policy applies.

Our fonts are hosted on this site itself, so loading them doesn't share your IP address with anyone else.

How we use your details

We use your details to answer your enquiry, deal with your request, and, where you ask for it, to set up a trade credit account. The legal basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before a sale or contract, or otherwise in our legitimate interests in running our business.

We don't sell your details, and we don't use them for marketing without asking you first. We only share them with service providers that help us run our business, such as the form and email services above.

We use analytics data only to understand and improve the site. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through "Cookie settings".

We keep the record of your cookie choices only to show that we have respected them, and never for analytics or marketing. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in being able to show that we asked for your consent properly, as data protection law requires.

How long we keep them

We keep enquiries for up to 12 months and then delete them. If you become a customer, we keep records for as long as our business needs and the law requires, for example for accounting purposes.

Records of your cookie choices are kept for 12 months and then deleted automatically. Analytics data is kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months. Web3Forms keeps a copy of each form submission in our account for 30 days and then deletes it.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of the companies above, including Google and Cloudflare, are based in the United States or may process data outside the UK. Web3Forms is run from India and uses companies in the United States and the European Union; its privacy policy explains how it handles data. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on the protections these companies put in place, as required by UK data protection law. For Web3Forms, these are standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum, set out in a data processing agreement.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or stop using it. In some cases you can also ask for it in a portable format. To do any of these, contact us using the details above. If you'd like to see the record of your cookie choices, send us the ID held in your fp_consent cookie (the part after the dot), because the record doesn't contain anything else that identifies you.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
